The Wild WestThe Wild WestThe Wild West by Sytrew
Wild and untamed mustangs race for miles,
Natives creep, hunting the buffalo,
Cowboys ride in the cattle drives,
Civilization has begun closing in.
The railroad comes and with it a change in the world,
Peoples of many nation flock as one to start anew,
The manifest destiny bright within their hearts,
They build their homes with hammer and nail.
The hardships to face confront all ceaselessly,
Like the youngest mustang on his first ride; the West fights on,
But the numbers of the new overwhelm the savage terrain,
And the wilderness is no more, like a man with no land, the West is broken.
